Chop’t opened in January 2001 with hopes of bringing something creative, fresh and healthy to the lunchtime scene in New York City, and eventually the rest of the country. The owners wanted to offer the very biggest and best salads and salad sandwiches, with the largest variety of ingredients and the best bang for the buck in the city. They envisioned a place where the customers would have a hand in crafting their meals and could come every day of the year without eating the same meal twice.

Every morning before opening, the kitchen bustles with activity. The owners/chefs prepare dressings and vinaigrettes from original recipes, tested on friends and families for two years until they were perfect. Daily shipments of fresh produce arrive, and then they prepare and grill the meats, roast the turkeys and make their soups from scratch.
Because Chop’t maintains the highest levels of food quality, service and cleanliness, customers can expect to leave there with a smile and a desire to return. for a 13 dollar salad it would be nice if they gave you more than one piece of chicken and tomatoes that are not yellow and stale. also would be nice if they gave me the dressing i ordered.

I always go to Chop't (i love their santa fe salad), but over 1 hour for delivery?? I live 6 blocks away from the location too. AND i ordered right after the peak lunch hour. Called to check and they kept me on hold for over 5 minutes so i had to call back to which they said it had just left. Still waiting for my food...I'm starving.

I don't know why I keep ordering here. Every time I do they take over an hour to get to my office that's a few blocks away. Once the food arrives and I'm starving it is ALWAYS missing dressing. Always. Then it take another hour for them to deliver the dressing. Worst service always.

I see some poor reviews on here, and yes the wait time is on the long side, but it has never been over the estimated time and so far have ordered 4 times and it's been delicious each time. Highly recommend the salted caramels.

I placed an order and called two hours after it was placed and Sheniqua told me that there was no order on file. Funny how the next day Seamless web confirmed that my order did indeed hit the restaurant and they credited me for the cost. How about the fact I was having dinner with a friend and i never came. Chopped you were a huge disappointment.

Salad came soaked in dressing - soggy and unappetizing. Could barely get through half of it; only really ate it because it was a $12 salad. I ordered avocado in it as well and I don't think any was added. I'm not sure because the entire salad was soaked so I dont even know what was really in it. Only upside: I called to complain and they offered me 50% off my next order. Doubt there will be one though. I think I'll save my Chop't orders for in-store and not through seamless.

We ordered 2 salads, waited 50 minutes. The avocado wasn't cut but thrown into my salad in once big piece. Since the salad came with only a fork it's a pain to get it into smaller chunks. And they forgot both of our salad dressings. When I called I was told someone would be sent out right away. After 40 minutes we still hadn't received our dressing. It's 5 minutes walking distance! I had to call again and was told it's on its way. It took another 15 minutes. Unbelievable! Last time I ordered from them they had forgotten the tortillas and with the dressing already put on the salad, the salad arrived completely soggy. I gave it a second shot but will not order again.

When you are spending about $15 on a salad - you expect it to be correct. I requested pita chips - which I had to pay for - and they gave me regular pita. I also requested fried onions - no onions at all. And I asked for extra dressing, which I did not receive. On top of that - lazy deliveryman called from my building's lobby asking me to come down. Worst $15 salad ever!!!!

The food is very good. The service was awful. I ordered a salad two hours in advance so that I would not have to wait on the ever long lines. When I arrived for pick-up the food wasn't ready. I had to wait for 20 minutes. It would have been quicker to just walk in and order. Very disappointing!

This place is horrible. I ordered at 2 and heard nothing. Called at 3 and was put on hold for 20 mins. Hung up and called again and finally got someone who fessed up they thought it was a pick up (even though I said delivery originally and they took my address down). They then proceeded to get everything else wrong when they "double checked" - Called me Gillian instead of my given name, quoted the absolute wrong address and I had to correct them AGAIN. Then the delivery guy called me to pick it up in my lobby and was nowhere to be found. I had to call him back and he then realized he was in the WRONG BUILDING (even though the receipt clearly stated the correct address). Got the food at 3:45pm. No compensation for any of their mistakes. Go elsewhere for salad delivery.

Don't order delivery from here. I ordered at 12:50pm and food didn't arrive until 2:40pm and I am only one block over and 2 avenues away! I like the food so next time I'll only order pickup.

The ingredients are fresh and their food is good, but when using delivery not only do they rarely include dressing with your salad mixed in, the delivery always takes upwards of one and half hours! What a joke for NYC!

Chopt botched my order - I ordered a Vegetarian Powerhouse Salad and instead got some chicken salad. I called back, hungry, and they said they would call me back. They didn't and here I sit... still hungry!

Typically eat at Chop't and always excellent. Ordered once and was not satisfied. Took a long time for delivery and when it came the sandwich I ordered was incorrect. Called and they were happy to remedy. Issued a credit as I chose not to wait for them to deliver another sandwich. Will give them another shot.

The salads here are wonderful, but very big! The ingredients are fresh and you can make your own salad--seamless web lists all of the possible ingredients and actually makes it easier than ordering at the store. Just make sure to be specific in your special instructions if you want something done (i.e. well chopped, extra dressing etc)

delivery can be quite a long wait but they let you know upfront with your order confirmation. Sometimes they arrive earlier than expected which is an awesome treat. Salads are superb - best in midtown. Ingredients are super fresh and dressings are inventive and super tasty!

This location of Chop't is one of my favorite places to eat during the week. I work in the office building in which it is located, and despite the long line that forms during the lunch hour, it is totally worth the wait. The staff and day time manager here are awesome - regardless of how busy they are, everyone is very friendly and helpful. I really enjoy the service and the food (super fresh, organic, awesome) and am totally loyal to the location!

60-75 minutes is a completely unacceptable wait time for one salad ordered at 7pm. Sadly, not only does Chop't not feel that way, they seem to think 2 hours is closer to an appropriate amount of time to accomplish this. I will never order delivery from Chop't again

Chop't frequently exceeds the wait time that they promise. They give themselves a 60-75 minute delivery window (which is long to begin with), but I usually end up waiting at least an hour and a half. I would order from Just Salad or Tossed as an alternative.

The delivery guy showed up an hour late. The salad was spilled all over the inside of the delivery bag, with the container crushed. The salad tasted OLD and, quite frankly, DISGUSTING. I won't be ordering from here again.

After 85 minutes awaiting delivery, they forgot to include a portion of my order, so I called to inform them. They stated they will have the delivery-man send it over. It never came. Not only did they screw up the order, they lied about sending the item to me. At the end of the day: outright fraudulent. Stay away.

I have yet to receive an order from Chop't that is either delivered within the confirmed delivery time OR is actually the meal that I ordered. Something is always, inevitably wrong, whether it's the dressing or the greens. I stopped ordering for months because I was tired of the consistent disappointment, but gave them a try again today, hoping for improvement. I'm not surprised, but I am repelled, and disappointed, by the severity of his delivery's mistakes. N.B.: don't bother trying to call and rectify the situation. Rude staff who invariably attempt to shift blame to the customer.

One of my salads was good, but the other one was incredibly soggy and inedible. The salad did not taste fresh and my friend that I ordered for ended up throwing the whole thing away.

This is my first time writing a review, and it's only because I am shocked at how poorly run this place is! It took them almost 2 hours to deliver my food. The delivery guy kept calling me and being mean about how hard it was to find my building - meanwhile I had given them both cross streets and building number, as well as landmarks. Never again.

NEVER ORDER FROM HERE!!! Twice now I have ordered dinner, and it has taken 2 hours for the food to arrive. When I have called to inquire, I have been lied to. It is not worth the aggravation and wait. Do yourself a favor, and order from anywhere else.

I waited for 2 hours for a salad. When it came, the dressing was poured all over inside the bag, on the bowl and on my beverage, then onto my desk. I had to give up on the beverage because there was dressing all over it. And I had no dressing for my salad. I will NEVER order from this place again.

I ordered the Palm Shrimp salad. It was fresh and delicious. The shrimp was seasoned very well. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because I expected more shrimp. Nevertheless, very good and I would definitly order again.

I used to go to Chopt in Washington, DC when I lived there. Just tried this location on 51st Street and the salad ingredients are really fresh. The large salad is good sized - but I'd recommend putting at least 4-5 items in it. Great for lunch!

I ordered from them today, two chicken salads, their salad portion is not huge however, the chicken and other ingredients barely there. For over $11 its such a rip off. And, no utensils or napkins included. The roll is about the size of your index finger. I called to complain and was told, "well that's the portions they give you" I mus say great customer service. NEVER AGAIN!!

I usually loved Chopt-- that is, when I go there and get it in person. My order didn't even appear to have been chopped: whole leaves of lettuce, a full half of an avocado, etc. Worst salad I've ever gotten at Chopt. Really disappointed because I LOVE their salads when they're done right!

The e-mail said 15 - 30 min estimated delivery time. It really took an hour. And I hate when delivery guys call when they're 5 min away so you have to wait in your lobby for them to arrive with no pen to sign the receipt. This is why I don't like tipping ahead of time. No incentive for timely service.
